I am back from Thailand, Bangkok!:( It was too fast, too short for that amount of shops available. And we expected better fashion. But overall, it was really 4 days of pure shopping, eating and massage(: SHAG! :)
S H O P P I N G Everyday was about the same. Just that we just couldn't get enough of it at the very last day of the trip. It was always an early wake in prep for the shops in the malls to open, then a heavy breakfast before we started the whole fashion scout. A pity we can't try anything on! Rar. That explained why we were not able to buy many figure hugging clothes there. what a letdown ya.
Another thing. Don't think that it IS a bargain session like it WAS in the past. We tried. And apparently they changed their system. *sigh* Now, it is a one-piece or wholesale price. All the blogshop trend must have pushed the demand up so high the prices went up as well. So the clothes there were considered cheap but not dirt cheap. I bet the producer surplus way exceeds our consumer surplus. :(
I want to go there another season for better and more clothes!
F O O D it was yummy! There was dim sum, Macs, A&W, KFC, Thai food and more thai food..haha! Started the day with heavy breakfast and ended it with a heavy dinner:D lunch was either snacks or just a light meal. and I thought it was a very good idea to set up a welfare fund at the start of the trip. It probably saved a lot of unhappiness and trouble. (y)
There were a few unforgettable experiences during the trip:
1) On our first day, we didn't know that wholesale price was the final price so we tried so hard to bargain and walked off in the end.(Cos she only lowered to wholesale price after much haggling, which was pretty unsatisfying for us) What a waste of our effort. But the bags called us back at the end of the day. We went back to the shop and guess what? That bitch kb us ttm, she raised the price back and scowled at us like a mad dog! It was really unpleasant. In the end, vulgarities spilled in english and.. thai? Thai's customer service- NEGATIVE TEN!
2) There' re six of us, which was not really a round number for transport if you know what I mean. So our initial plan was 3 to a taxi. Haha, but we girls were so petite, (in addition to the drivers being so disregardful of the law) the whole trip it was always 6 to a taxi and EVEN to a tuk tuk! Imagine the squeeze! We were guessing this was why 3 angmohs along the roadside wanted to take a picture with us when they spotted us on the road, in a jam. And we just posed for them.*CHEESE* (",)v
3) While we were walking back to Baiyoke Boutique Hotel(i love the decor!), we walked past this roadside stall which sold fried insects!! Jie Esther said she'll treat me to it if I dare eat it. And I was like 'Really? OK!' And so we bought a packet! HA and one packet consists of a pretty big scoop! maybe like thirty of them. Oh yea, we chose small grasshoppers. The video is on fb but i don't have an account so I apologise for that. The video is super entertaining! 5 stars :P But in the end each ate only one while I continued till I felt a weird taste in my mouth. haha if you wanna know, its taste kinda resembled that of chips! ;)
4) Ooh yes I met Shaoting, Reg and Ely at Chatuchak Weekend Market! At a random timing and a random shop. (missed shu and d tho) It was our last day there! and their first day there? It was quite amazing. Shaoting's shirts were very recognisable :D haha.
I think that's about it. All that I could think of for now. Ooh I hope they are having a very good time climbing in CM ;) It was memorable..
And the first lesson was fun but weird? hahaha! :P
