the little red hard heart-shaped glossy beads
so red they captivate your attention
across the patch of dullness.
i wondered if they knew what they signified.
to the Indians, it was a form of offerings to Vishnu.
while to the Chinese, it was a symbol of love-相思豆.
i have a bottle of them now,
in our first bottle of strawberry espririt.
it was sweet.
my promise to a special someone.
