hmmm today's SS was on the ageing population of Singapore. uh huh so i thought. was the or should i say IS the problem really that serious in this country?? haha and true enough, while i was at BuGiS today... saw this old woman sitiing by the side selling tissue paper and cotton buds for 30 cents per pack. omg. then she's like really earning money lah, i'm sorry to say this but i feel that it's either she's using people's sympathy or singaporeans are being too kind already. but i saw a couple of ppl stoping, taking out their wallets to buy them. haha what's wrong with that? nothing's wrong with that actually.. the thing that is wrong is that they gave her 2 bucks and asked her to keep the change. hmm how's that! see the point? if i were the old lady, i'd probably be happy(got money what..).. or feel really insulted (i still have my hands and legs intact. why do u have to treat me like i am a handicap?). the difference between both generations seems to be youth and the knowledge. however the link is that without these things the senior citizens couldn't 'fight' with the youths for jobs. cause the employer is bound to chose us, the teenagers.
yea but the damn good point is that the senior citizens, after taking care of their children and grand-dudes, are now damn experienced in taking precautions. kool! theyy can tell the potential danger and at the same time not underestimating it no matter how small it is. like just now on the mrt, my shoelaces untied and i wasn't bothered with them cos it always unties!! grr.. that's not the point though.. the old woman on the chair asked me to tie my shoelaces and, typically, 'nagged' a little lar. she took the books for me so i could tie them. SO GOODD RIGHT??!?! haha now still got who will like that?*broken english.lol.* none of them. maybe the aunties but definitely not the youngsters(i mean strangers)! you could have felt the warmth still lingering in moi heart. haha yea but it was soooooooooo sweet of her. so so so sweet. lol. so i thanked her and made my way back home. =)
